I'm Dan Terrill, a senior internet developer for Acsys Interactive. I live in Bristol, CT with my wife, stepson and a menagerie of 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 birds. I've been programming for most of my life, starting with a Commodore Vic-20 when I was 10 years old. My first development job was using PowerBuilder 4.0, but I quickly moved into the Microsoft world with VB 6.0 and then .net development.
Most of my professional life has been spent on the database side, and I was SQL server database administrator for around 8 years. Programming is my true passion, though, so I'm back in the development world at Acys Interactive. Things are now right with the world!
Lately I've been involved in Content Management Server (CMS) implementation and integration, and I love it. It's great to be able to whip up a high-quality, highly functional site in a short period of time, and put control into the end user hands where it belongs. The Ektron CMS is my system of choice, as it's inexpensive, very powerful, and has great features. The social networking functionality alone sets it ahead of the pack.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy scuba diving, cooking, and fishing.
